The Oakridge School is excited to announce that Hockaday School’s Janie Martin will be reading her paper, “What’s Wrong with this Guy?: A Psychological Analysis of Richard III and the Moral Implications It Entails,” at the 2014 Richard III Colloquium this March 21st. We look forward to Janie’s presentation!

Here to speak about the psychology of Richard III is Janie Martin, a senior at the Hockaday School. She is a prospective pre-med major, her favorite color is blue, and her choice of college is undecided. To bring her love for science into her Literature and Philosophy classroom, Janie analyzed the psyche of Richard III and discussed the moral implications of any potential psychological disorder.

Janie will be presenting her paper during Session F of the 1st Block, “Morality and Conscience in Richard III,” which will meet in the Skybridge located between the Fine Arts building and the Library.

Molly Montgomery of The Hockaday School will be presenting her paper, “A Shakespearean Cartoon,” at the 2014 Richard III Colloquium

The Oakridge School is excited to announce that Molly Montgomery of The Hockaday School will be reading her paper, “A Shakespearean Cartoon,” at the 2014 Richard III Colloquium this March 21st. We look forward to Molly’s presentation!

Molly Montgomery is a senior at the Hockaday School, a field hockey player and an AP Scholar. She is interested in studying environmental science in college, despite being unsure of where she is going next year.

Molly will be presenting her paper during Session C of the 1st Block, “Staging and Performing Villainy in Richard III,” which will meet in the John P. Flavin Fine Arts Performance Hall.

Shreya Ajuha of The Hockaday School will be reading her paper, “I AM,” at the 2014 Richard III Colloquium

The Oakridge School is excited to host The Hockaday School’s Shreya Ahuja who will be presenting her paper, “I AM,” at the 2014 Richard III Colloquium this March 21st. We look forward to Shreya’s presentation this Friday!

Shreya was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and she is a proud senior at The Hockaday School; she has attended Hockaday since the 5^th grade. At Hockaday, Shreya is the Co-President of the Hockaday Debate Team, 4-year Varsity Tennis player, and a representative on the Honor Council. During high-school, Shreya discovered that she has a profound interest in understanding human behavior at both a biological and cognitive level, and in an effort to satisfy her curiosity, she has spent the last two summers performing neuroscience research at the University of Iowa. While studying Richard III, Shreya was intrigued by the role of emotions in moral-decision making and will be presenting her thoughts on the topic at the colloquium.

Shreya will be reading her paper during Session D of the 1st Block, “The Effects and Affects of Richard’s Deformity,” which will meet in the downstairs part of the Library.

Katya Lopatko is a senior at the Hockaday School, which she has been attending since seventh grade. She was born in Moscow, Russia on December 31, New Year’s Eve. Her favorite subjects are English and history, and next year she wants to major in International Relations but other than that, she is open to whichever direction life will take her. In addition to academics, she is the editor of Cornerstones, Hockaday’s yearbook, and swims on the Hockaday Varsity swim team. In her free time she enjoys painting, listening to music and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys listening to Vampire Weekend on repeat. Her favorite fruits are peaches, pomegranates and mango.

The Oakridge School is thrilled to announce that The Hockaday School’s Nicole Joseph will be presenting her paper, “Justice in Richard III,” at the 2014 Richard III Colloquium this March 21st. We look forward to Nicole’s presentation this Friday!

Nicole Joseph is a senior at the Hockaday School where she has been for four years. She is sentimental about the end of her childhood and the end of all things but is ready to attend Tufts University next fall. In high school, she has spent her time in the art studio, talking to people in hall, rowing crew, and scavenging for fruit. Her favorite fruits are peaches, pomegranates, watermelon, and mango, in that order. Nicole enjoys classes that her favorite teachers teach: often history, art, and science. She is planning to major in Community Health next fall and would love to dedicate her life to taking down the health insurance lobbies.

The Oakridge School is excited to announce that The Hockaday School’s Emily Zhang will be presenting her paper, “Irrational Desires,” at the 2014 Richard III Colloquium this March 21st. Great job Emily!

Emily Zhang is a senior at The Hockaday school, where she has been attending school since the eighth grade.  Emily is also a National Merit Finalist and is excited to attend a university next year, hopefully somewhere colder than Texas (probably somewhere in the northeast).  She has an active interest in China and its culture and has attended several camps and competitions to that effect. Other interests include but are not limited to debate, writing, and watching British TV shows such as Sherlock and Doctor Who. She spends much of her time surfing the web, memorizing random facts, and occasionally reading and writing poetry. She would like to thank the Hockaday School for giving her a wonderful education and greatly improving her writing skills.
